BOTOX THERAPY

Botox fights the signs of aging by relaxing the underlying muscles which cause wrinkles and lines to appear on the skin. One common use for Botox is in treating the deep frown lines which often appear between ones eyebrows. Not only do frown lines make you look older, they can also make you appear angry or upset, even when you are happy. Crow's feet around the eyes can also add years to ones appearance and make you look like you are squinting most of the time. It is important to remember that not all facial wrinkles are related to the activity of underlying muscles. Sun exposure, the natural maturing process and smoking can contribute to wrinkles. While less effective against these "static wrinkles", Botox injections may still help improve the overall appearance of the skin when used in combination with filling substances.

BOTOX FOR EXCESSIVE SWEATING

Sweating is a natural body function needed for the regulation of body temperature. The secretion of sweat is controlled by the sympathetic nervous system. In approximately 1% of the population, the nerves are over-stimulated and sweat is produced far greater than is needed to keep a constant temperature. This condition is referred to as Hyperhydrosis. Excessive sweating may be episodic or continuous and may be caused by warm weather, emotional stress or for no reason at all. It may be part of an underlying medical condition or be of unknown cause (this is the most common). The hands, feet and armpits are the most common locations. The condition usually starts during adolescence and is life long.

Injections of Botox in the affected area blocks the release of the chemical responsible for the stimulation of sweat glands - acetylcholine.

FACIAL TISSUE AUGMENTATION

This is a non permanent facial enhancement similar to Collagen. We use Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines and Perlane. These products make it possible to quickly and effectively meet the vast majority of patients needs for the correction of wrinkles, folds, shaping of facial contours and lip enhancement. These products are based on a biosynthetic hyaluronic acid, manufactured in laboratories. This means the product can not cause animal related allergic reactions or transmitted diseases.

VEIN THERAPY

Spider veins are small dilated blood vessels that have a red or bluish color and are most commonly found on the legs. They usually pose no health hazard, but may produce a dull aching in the legs after prolonged standing. Varicose veins are abnormally swollen or enlarged blood vessels caused by a weakening in the vein's wall. They can be harmful to a patient's health. We treat these veins with a procedure called Sclerotherapy. This involves an injection of a solution directly into the blood vessel. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel causing it to swell and stick together. After a period of weeks the vein turns into scar tissue that fades, eventually becoming barely noticeable or invisible.
