FACIAL TISSUE AUGMENTATION
AN INTRODUCTION TO FACIAL TISSUE AUGMENTATION
This is a non permanent facial enhancement similar to Collagen. We use Restylane, Restylane Fine Lines and Perlane. These products make it possible to quickly and effectively meet the vast majority of patient's needs for the correction of wrinkles and folds, shaping facial contours and lip enhancement.
These products are based on a biosynthetic hyaluronic acid manufactured in laboratories. This means the product can not cause animal related allergic reactions or transmitted diseases.
They are used for the treatment of three main facial areas of concern:
- Treating Wrinkles
- Facial Contours
- Treating Lips
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
HOW IS THE TREATMENT DONE?
During treatment the crystal-clear gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very thin needle. The gel then gives natural volume and smoothes the wrinkles.
HOW SOON CAN I SEE THE RESULTS?
The results can be seen immediately. Some patients with lip treatments may experience swelling for about a week and the lips can look uneven during this time. This means that the result directly after treatment should not be looked upon as the final result.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
How long a treatment holds its effect is very individual. This depends on many factors, such as your age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity as well as on the injection technique. Most patients choose to have a follow-up treatment six to twelve months after an initial treatment.
DO I NEED A SKIN TEST?
No, the results of several studies and experience from over 700,000 treatments indicate that a skin test is not necessary.
CAN THE PRODUCTS BE USED DURING PREGANCY OR LACTATION?
Treatments with these products during pregnancy or lactation have not been tested.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:
After the injection some common injection-related reactions may occur, as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the implant site. They typically resolve within one to two days after injection into the skin.
Other types of reaction are very rare, but about one in 2,000 treated patients have experienced localized reactions thought to be of a hypersensitivity nature. These have usually consisted of swelling at the implant site, sometimes affecting the surrounding tissues.
Redness, tenderness and rarely, acne-like formations have also been reported. These reactions have either started a few days after injection or after a delay of two to four weeks and have generally been described as mild to moderated and self-limiting, with an average duration of two weeks.
